2-track Mountain with Waterfall Layout- Z Scale

$1,200.00Price

The pictures and video you see here are of an OLD layout  that was NOT designed with shipping in mind. We have created a version so easy to ship that we offer FREE SHIPPING, but we don't build the shippable version until an actual order comes in. IF you can come to Chicago (60618) to pick it up your layout, that means you would get to choose which layout you prefer, the old or the new. Of course, if you want it shipped, what you will get is the NEW VERSION. As protection for you so you can see what it looks like and how well it runs, we will post on YouTube (@IBILLBEIN) a very detailed video showing two trains running for several minutes with no problem and exactly what the scenery looks like.

But now let's go back to the magic of the layout: we encourage you to watch the video one more time  just to study how much train a DOUBLE-TRACK, MOUNTAIN-CLIMBING, TRIPLE-LAYER FIGURE 8 can pack into a 37" x 27" footprint.

As for the two trains, there is a small loop on the bottom and a much longer mainline mountain climb. Due to all the looping of the track, at one point the tracks get stacked THREE levels high. In addition, there is a 10” high mountain with a lake and waterfall that the mainline goes through twice each time it completes a circuit.

The mainline features a longer UPHILL climb where the min. radius is 195 mm (many Z-scale layouts are 145 mm or less) and is kept to just a 3% incline. The DOWNHILL track is steeper (4.5%) and has a tighter radius (170 mm). One advantage to the shallower uphill climb is that the layout no longer looks like a standard Figure 8. In addition, each lap now takes much longer than a standard compact Figure 8. Note: The small, inner loop is flat (no incline), with curves that are 95 mm.

The mountain that the mainline runs through features a pop-off mountain top with a waterfall that is removable should you ever need access to all the track. The pictures and video also show a 19" long by 5" deep by 8" high village insert. As one of the pictures explains, the small village you see here could be made bigger for you if you wished.
