We call this an elongated figure 8 because it has a long and gentle uphill climb (3.0%) and 170 mm curves that allow you to run a wide choice of Z Scale equipment.
 
NOTE: you can use this layout as a stand-alone but truly it works best as an INSERT to either the Double Track Outer Loop or the Single Track Outer Loop with a Siding.
