This layout works in DC or DCC power. It is one of the smallest N-Scale layouts we make (68" x 26" in size) -- and we invite you to check out a second small one, our N3: Double-Track Oval with Yard.  You can start with either of them and put the the second one alongside it to 1uild your collection
 
     OR, and this is pretty amazing, later you could later get from us a larger outside oval that could surround one or both  of the small inserts (see Layouts N4, N5, or N6). In other words, this is a system you can EXPAND over time--and you could end up with a huge, full N-Scale layout, all accumulated one piece at a time.      Also note that we will send you TWO LAYERS of 1" thick foam. You will glue the TOP LAYER of foam (the one with the tracks) to the BOTTOM layer so that the whole thing becomes a single 2" thick 'monolith' of material. We will, of course, provide detailed instructions on all of this. 
 
All track is Kato Unitrack. We include all the track feeders you will need, and it includes all glued-down scenery, but we do not furnish any power controllers, nor do we furnish any locomotives, cars, or buildings.
 
Since the layout comes in several sections, we will provide scenery material that you can glue down to cover the cracks (watch the video and examine the pictures and you will see how well the cracks can be hidden).
