This DOUBLE LOOP OVAL is 47" x 24" with no incline and generous curves (195 mm on the inside, 220 mm on the outside). Check out the video and you will see how serious a train you can run on a layout that big with curves that gentle. That's right: long trains with American-style locomotives and American-style cars are not only NO PROBLEM, they are what this layout was DESIGNED FOR. And, when you watch the video, we think you will see what we call the ILLUSION of Z Scale: When a layout is big enough to have trains that disappear from sight for so long a time, it doesn't look like a train that is chasing its own tail--instead it looks like a train that is a mile away.
 
NOTE THAT THIS LISTING INCLUDES JUST THE DOUBLE TRACK OVAL (insert layouts for the center are all sold separately), and the price includes just the track, power feeds and base with glued-down scenery (no power supply, locomotives, or train cars). 
 
We hope you will also check out the smaller layouts we sell, like the ELONGATED FIGURE 8 or the TRUNK LINE (train in a tree) or the Magic Mountain (4 trains in a tiny footprint). This double loop was designed to perfectly surround those smaller layouts. 
 
We of course are more than willing to sell you just the outer loop, but what we really hope is that over time you will pick up one or more of our matching layouts. Are you serious about Z Scale? Picture TWO of outside oval train lines (this one is the DOUBLE LOOP, the other is the SINGLE LOOP w/ SIDING) AND two of our inserts (like Elongated Figure 8 and Trunk Line) -- you would need just 96" x 24" of space for FOUR of our layouts -- two outer ovals and two inner inserts!
