Single Track Oval- Z Scale Layout (47" x 24" -with siding)

This SINGLE TRACK OUTER OVAL features just one mainline but adds a siding  (we also sell a DOUBLE TRACK OVAL -- with no siding). The layout is 47" x 24" with no incline and generous curves (220 mm). Check out the video and you will see how serious a train you can run on a layout that big and with curves that gentle. That's right: long trains with American-style locomotives and American-style cars are not only NO PROBLEM, they are what this layout was DESIGNED FOR. 
 
And, when you watch the video, we think you will see what we call the ILLUSION of Z Scale: When you add one of our inserts to the layout layout, you will now see trains disappear from sight for so long a time, it doesn't look like a train chasing its own tail--instead it looks like a train that is a mile away.
 
As for the siding, it is a powered Rokuhan turnout, and that would let you run a single train that does the loop and backs up onto the siding. But the other option, as some pictures show, is to permanently park a non-operating locomotive and cars on the siding as a DIORAMA -- and then never use the turnout.
 
NOTE THAT THIS LISTING INCLUDES THE SINGLE TRACK OVAL AND SIDING but NO insert layouts for the center (there are all sold separately). The price includes the track, one turnout, a power feed and the base as shown with glued-down scenery (but with no buildings, power supply, turnout control, locomotives, or train cars). 
 
We hope you will also check out all of the smaller insert layouts we sell, like the ELONGATED FIGURE 8, the TRUNK LINE (train in a tree), or the Magic Mountain (4 trains in a tiny footprint). This outer loop layout was designed to perfectly surround one of those smaller layouts. 
 
We of course are more than willing to sell you just the outer loop, but we really hope over time you will add more. Picture TWO outer oval layouts (this SINGLE LOOP w/ SIDING and and our DOUBLE LOOP) --and then, with two of our inserts (like Elongated Figure 8 and Trunk Line) -- you would need just 96" x 24" of space for FOUR layouts -- two outer ovals and two inner inserts running five or six trains at a time!
