THIS IS A TRUE GIANT Z-SCALE. Very few Z-Scale layouts are bigger than this  -- and very few can claim the ability to run FOUR long trains at a time -- all with American-style locomotives and cars.
 
But, before we go any further, we mu8st add this note: the video you will see is of our 8' long version -- the one we ship in two sections. If you buy THIS VERSION, your layout will be 10' in length (and come in 3 sections). Except for the difference in length, the two layouts work the same.
 
Oh, and one more thing: what if you were to ask us to make it 12' long? We bet, for a small fee, we would customize this any way you want.
 
     Because this layout is so long (10') and because it has a holding track for each of the two mainlines on it, it can run FOUR TRAINS at a time (2 per track) --  with a comfortable train size of 16 American-style cars. To learn just how the holding tracks work, be sure to watch the video. It shows how the use of the Rokuhan Y-CABLE FOR TURNOUTS automates the process, even in DC (DCC is NOT what we wire this layout for).
 
     Because all the mainline curves are 270 mm (the most gentle Rokuhan sells), you can run 16-car American-style trains on this layout --two passengers and two freights, if you wish.
 
     This is one of our SHIPPABLE layouts that we send out in several sections STACKED in a box (as unstacked it would be too expensive to ship). You do the final assemble on site, using the Rokuhan adjustable tracks that we provide to make the connections (see the video for detailed instructions on this).
 
     We won't go into more detail here because we really believe that SEEING is BELIEVING -- and it is essential that you watch the video for information on both how the holding track enable two trains to share each track and how the stacking/assembly of the sections works.
 
     We do want to point out that our smallest insert layouts can be added to this layout, as the video shows. If you are interested, check out Z2: Bookcase Line or Z2: Train in a Tree line. Both are just 32" x 13" wide-- and either (or both) can fit inside this larger layout.
 
     We also recommend you check out several other large layouts we have --if you have LESS room, you may want the 8'' straight-wall version of this layout or perhaps for a corner the 9' x 9' corner layout.
 
     All track is Rokuhan. We provide all needed track feeders, and  two powered sets of turnouts for the holding tracks (note that all turnouts for the sidings are manual.) The layout includes all glued-down scenery. We do not furnish any power controllers, nor do we furnish any locomotives, cars, or buildings. The two smaller layouts featured in the video for this listing are sold separately (and are not included in the price shown for this layout).
 
Since the layout comes in several sections, we will provide scenery material that you can glue down to cover the cracks (watch the video and examine the pictures and you will see how well the cracks can be hidden).
